Radiohead Appear Online Again
3rd May 2016 • No commentsOver the weekend Radiohead made fans’ heads explode when they deleted their entire existence from the internet. In one fell swoop the band’s website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts were completely blank which led to speculation that the band’s long awaited LP9 was soon forthcoming.
Radiohead’s mass exodus from the web came on the heels of a cryptic leaflet sent by the band to UK fans last week.
Is Burn the Witch the album title? Is this the artwork? Look, the OK Computer bear is making an appearance again! The nursery rhyme lyrics were analyzed to death and artwork inspected on a microscopic level to see if there were any hints about the release date, the title, the songs – ANYTHING! Of course there isn’t, it’s Radiohead.
But this morning things started to happen. 2 short videos appeared on Instagram, one of which is now on the band’s website.
Appearing first was this little bird clip (which may allude to the much buzzed about “Dawn Chorus”):

No one knows what any of this means or when this album is, in fact, going to drop, but it sure is exciting to watch it unfold. Radiohead is always creative but they’ve always underutilized social media. It’s been great to see them build such tremendous suspense around the album with social media and lack of presence while upping their social media game at the same time. Stay tuned!
