Adele Smashes N'Sync Sales Record in 3 Days

Would she, wouldn’t she? She did! Adele has, in fact, broken the record set by N’Sync in 2000 for most albums sold in a single week. When N’Sync released No Strings Attached in March of 2000 the album sold 2,416,000 copies in its first week of release. Music biz analysts and geeks alike have been predicting Adele surpass that number with ease and a mere 3 days after the release of her latest album, 25, she has. According to Nielsen, 25 has sold at least 2,433,000 copies since its November 20th release with the sales tracking week ending on Thursday, November 26.
Additionally, Billboard tweeted earlier that 42% of this week’s total album sales belong to Adele.

All of that success for a woman who runs her career as she chooses; it’s so refreshing. It’s also a nice change that all of that success is success for an indie label.
