Brian St. Clair to Leave Local H

Local H have announced that drummer Brian St.Clair will be leaving the band after this tour.
In an email sent out to email subscribers, frontman Scott Lucas and St.Clair both shared thoughts on the amicable parting.

“I got to play with one of my favorite drummers ever – and that’s awesome. Brian’s one of the best musicians I’ll ever play with. I can’t thank him enough.” – Scott

“It’s been great to play with Scott the last 14 years. I’m very proud of my recordings and live performances with Local H. My sincere thanks go out to all the fans for their support over the years. It’s been a great run, but all good things come to an end. I wish the new drummer, whoever it is, all the best. I will be focusing on my tour management and production company, Tour Time Productions, as well as other live and studio projects.” – Brian

St.Clair’s wishing the ‘new drummer all the best’ would seem to indicate that Lucas plans to continue with the Local H project.

At the risk of getting more maudlin than one should at such news, and more personal than I should given my job, I probably shouldn’t mention that I teared up a bit at this news; but I will, and am. I’ve stated on several occasions that Local H has played a significant role in my life both musically and personally and Brian in particular is a cherished friend, in addition to being a respected musician. While I have no doubt that Scott will choose an amazing drummer to become the next incarnation of Local H, the Scott/Brian era gave us some undeniably amazing music. Just as Ham Fisted, As Good As Dead and, Pack Up the Cats, were the albums of our teenage angst, Here Comes the Zoo, Whatever Happened to PJ Soles?, Twelve Angry Months, and Hallelujah! I’m a Bum! were the albums we became adults to.

We’d like to wish Brian all the best as he devotes more time to his management duties and thank him for 14 years of amazing music.
Thank you to Scott as well; we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of Local H (and The Married Men!)
