Jordannah Elizabeth Interview Part 1
21st January 2013 • No commentsFor almost a decade, Jordannah Elizabeth has been intermingling genres and crashing through glass ceilings. Initially having set out to make a new Makeshivt Kitty record, her usual collaborators became increasingly unavailable for one reason or another. That left her; only her. While she may be a grown woman now, it’s a rather intimidating prospect to write, record, and produce a record in a fashion you’re unaccustomed to. While she did have a bit of help along the way, borrowing instruments from friends and having friend and colleague Lg Galleon of Dead Leaf Echo mix the album for her, the better part of it she did it on her own.
Now, as the March release date of Harvest Time draws ever closer, Jordannah and I had a telephone chat to discuss the new record, her evolution, and how The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Radiohead, and folk music fit into all of this.
