Happy Weekend!
24th January 2015 • No commentsHi darling readers! As many of you know we’re in the midst of a lot of changes here at Thirty Roses HQ. We’ll be relocating across the country soon, Noughts and Exes are always in the middle of something exciting, and artists and industry folk are buzzing about The VT. For those who don’t know, The VT is a project I became involved with close to a year ago. Founded by musician and entrepreneur Nick Blake, it’s a streaming video channel and artist collective. Think Netflix + MTV with an element of artistic socialism thrown in. We’re building a channel that caters to indie artists of all genres and also builds a thriving community which not only promotes artists, but also allows networking and fosters creativity within our collective. This year we’ll be hiring a dozen artists get things rolling and we’ve just started our monthly cover contest.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I build time capsules around music and remember pretty much every life event by what song was playing when it occurred. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my hashtag #thesoundtrackofyourlife, which I use when sharing photos relating to important songs or events. How many of you are the same way? I’d imagine a lot of you! I always recall Fran Healy from Travis discussing the song Slideshow. He said that the song is about how music turns moments into films in a way and when you hear a song it allows you to replay memories in your mind as if you were watching them on a screen. I may not write songs but I wholeheartedly agree. Here’s an interesting article on the subject. You may want to read it if you have a moment. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂
