Our Biggest Year Ever…Again

I vividly remember sitting in my office last year (2013) reading our year-end statistics report with something that can only be described as awe and slight bewilderment. I sat down to write a ‘Thank you‘ letter to our readers, subscribers, and anyone who has stopped by and read or shared anything they’ve found on Thirty Roses and thought to myself “This is it, I’ll never top this year.” When I thought 2013 couldn’t possibly be beaten, I had no idea what was to come in 2014.

Last year I became one of the managers of Noughts and Exes, who continue to find fans all over the world. Their song Hearts was used in a commercial for Magnavox, they performed at the first ever Sundance Film Festival in Hong Kong, and the band’s third album, which was released in Hong Kong in 2013, was released globally in 2014.
In 2014 I also partnered with musician-entrepreneur Nick Blake on The VT, the streaming video channel he’s poured his heart and soul into. A channel (and then some) truly devoted to indie music (all genres) and, most importantly, a channel and business model truly devoted to artists and their rights. It’s been and exciting project to work on and I’m honored everyday to work with Nick and the artists we’ve aligned ourselves with.
As for Thirty Roses, we’re still here. We still consult with artists and we still write about the music industry and artists we believe in. The past year saw fewer posts because the aforementioned projects left less time for writing but despite that, our readership and subscriber rates grew almost 50% compared to the previous year! Not only are readers still supporting us, but many have become fans of Noughts and Exes and/or The VT, as well!

I often find myself so overwhelmed by the fantastical things that have happened in recent years that I think it’s all too good to be true. There’s a responsibility that accompanies your dreams coming true; it takes a lot of work to ensure they keep coming true and it becomes increasingly important you surround yourself with talented and supportive people who can sustain you as your career and person evolve. I’ve been fortunate to see increased global readership and new career opportunities in the past year, but I’m also lucky to have a network of friends, relatives, colleagues, and peers whose guidance has kept me grounded (and sane). At the risk of sounding redundant (or schmaltzy) I cannot thank you enough for your continued support.

Wishing you the very best in 2015!

Much love,

~Christine Infanger
