Hello everyone, thankfully it’s Saturday again! Lately I’ve been re-reading a favorite book of mine; Catapult Soul by Brian Celio. It’s often described as a modern-day equivalent of James Joyce’s ‘A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man‘ with the added element of punk rock and dripping with satire. Those who follow me on social media have probably seen the quotes I’ve been sharing from the book over the past week or so, my favorite being: “Dear disgruntled artists: the key to success isn’t kicking down the door; it’s building your own.” Something Brian Celio does quite well is cite song lyrics throughout the novel to help set the tone and pace for characters and situations.
