Today’s FAC digest shared information on a wonderful new campaign by UK organization Attitude is Everything. The #MusicWithoutBarriers campaign hopes to raise awareness and work with artists and venues to make live music more accessible for the deaf and disabled community. Per their website, #MusicWithoutBarriers has 4 key points they wish to raise awareness about:

-Improving access to live music doesn’t have to be costly
-There is a strong business case for improving accessibility
-Access information in advance of an event is crucial
-Not all disabled people are wheelchair users

#MusicWithoutBarries has teamed up with the FAC, MMF, the Musicians Union, the UK’s premier venues and festivals, in addition to a host of top artists, including The Cure, Franz Ferdinand, Alt-J, Frank Turner, Tom Odell, and many others.

We at Thirty Roses happen to believe there’s nothing more important (or cathartic) than music and are so excited by this campaign! People often fail to recognize that members of the deaf and disabled communities are music fans, too, and renowned artists and organizations becoming involved in campaigns such as this are often how the public become educated.
