Happy Birthday, Supersonic!

On this day in 1994 Oasis released Supersonic; the debut single from their larger than life debut album Definitely Maybe. While the track peaked at number 31 on the UK charts (impressive for any single, much less a debut!), over the course of Oasis’ history it became their lowest charting single. What it did far more importantly than place on the charts was introduce the country, and eventually the world, to Oasis’ brand of rock and social commentary glossed over with dole queue apathy. Definitely Maybe became one of the most important and influential albums released in the UK and continues to hold a place on virtually every ‘Best of’ album list, and this is the song that started it all.
