Happy Weekend!

Yay, it’s Saturday again! To summarize the week that just passed- Midem happened with further declining attendance, excitement is starting to build about SXSW, people are still arguing/debating/screaming about streaming and whether it will save or kill the music industry, the Super Bowl happened and The Red Hot Chili Peppers got some flack for not playing their instruments live. Flea had this to say. I’m not the world’s biggest Chili Pepper’s fan but to all who are bashing the band, before you criticize them too harshly, take into consideration a few things. Consider all of uncontrollable variables in a venue that size, that it was outdoors, the fact that it was a very, very short performance, and the fact that crews had to get the field cleared of the stage and all gear nearly immediately for a football game to resume. Had it been a typical gig where the band have their normal crew, hours to set up, soundcheck, and time to perfect everything, I’ll join in the bashing. But it’s the Super Bowl halftime show, it’s a circus. At any rate, it was a busy week for sure! Enjoy your weekend!
