Happy Weekend!

Today was the day that Thirty Roses founder, Christine Infanger, was running a workshop at the School of Rock. As easy as it is to get disillusioned by the homogenized, auto-tuned, regurgitated fare on the radio, a few hours with the kids at the School of Rock gives us hope and reminds us that not all kids salivate over One Direction and Katy Perry. Some of them spend every free moment playing instruments and making music.
There is certainly a place in the world for lighthearted songs, but the music industry doesn’t always give kids much credit when it comes to their listening taste and spending habits.
Today we met a savvy eight year old who knew more about Richie Valens and Buddy Holly than anyone I’ve ever known. It was a remarkable experience, to be sure.
