Happy Weekend!

Sorry we’re late with Happy Weekend, everyone. The past few weeks have been a bit frenetic here at Thirty Roses HQ (though, aren’t they are all?) It seems everyone is always so busy, but we hope you’ll forgive us our tardiness once you find out what we were doing yesterday.
Yesterday was the first concert at the local School of Rock location and we are so happy to have been in attendance! It’s obvious that the students are working hard, learning a ton, and having a great time.

The rockers performed songs by Oasis, Metallica, Neil Young, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Weezer, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, The Beatles, and a host of others who escape me at the moment. We’ll be sure to share some video of the show when the School of Rock puts it up; you’ll all be impressed!

We’ve spoken about our love of School of Rock in the past, and last night we saw what they’re all about in action. As wonderful as school band and orchestra are, those things aren’t for everyone. For kids who need a place to fit in and parents who want their children to learn music theory, discipline, and have a safe place to channel talent and energy, School of Rock is an amazing place; and they’re located all over the place!
I’ll be teaching a workshop on music journalism/the music industry at the School of Rock Oak Park on 21 September, so tweens and teens, sign up!!
