Artists We Love: Natalie Nicole Gilbert
4th September 2013 • 1 comment
Today is the launch of a new feature we’re rolling out at Thirty Roses. We’re always introduced to so many new artists and we want to share them with all of you, ergo, Artists We Love! Each week Artists We Love will showcase an artist we’re currently agog over and feel you should be as well.
Our premier AWL will highlight the talented…
Natalie Nicole Gilbert! Ms. Gilbert is a vocalist whose most recent release, 2012’s Slip of the Tongue is the kind of record that simply makes you feel good. Her voice is soulful and powerful while remaining calm and lilting, as well.
The best part about Slip of the Tongue is that it’s conducive to so many atmospheres. It’s a great record to listen to whilst driving aimlessly on a sunny day. It’s also a great record to listen to while relaxing with a cup of coffee on a lazy morning or a bottle of wine after a long week.
Our favourite tracks change by the moment but as it stands right now we love ‘Santa Monica‘ and ‘Here Now.’
Slip of the Tongue is the third album by Natalie Nicole Gilbert. Previously she released Summary in 2009, and New Moon, Blue Sun, in 2010 (which also featured Bluesunn).
Ms. Gilbert is perhaps best known for the track ‘Breathing Hope (Carlisle Cullen Tribute),’ which, as you can imagine, was well received by the so-called Twi-hard community. YouTube has quite a few fan videos featuring the song and comments of thanks from Natalie Nicole Gilbert expressing her gratitude.
We are always supportive of talented and smart women conquering the music industry; we look forward to more great things from Natalie Nicole Gilbert and hope you check her out, too!
