Harvest Picnic: “Great organic foods and great organic music.”

4th July 2013 2 comments

One of the lesser spoken of but more talent filled festivals of summer is the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic in Dundas, Ontario. Now in its third year, the event hosts some of the most legendary artists the music world has known, in addition to showcasing artists you may not know yet.
Not only does the event feature 11 hours of music featuring Daniel Lanois, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Emmylou Harris, Trixie Whitley, Rocco DeLuca, Basia Bulat, Whitehorse, Pegi Young & The Survivors, Arkells, & Harlan Pepper, with more to be announced, but it takes place at the lovely Christie Lake. In addition to the celebration of music, which is always reason enough to assemble in our book, the further purpose of the Harvest Picnic is to celebrate and support local artists, conservation, local farmers, and healthy & organic foods.

The event will also play host to a variety of vendors selling art, merchandise and, of course, food! Concert goers are welcome to bring their own food as well, but may not bring alcoholic beverages into the event.
Beer and (more importantly) wine will be available on the day to those of legal age.

We will definitely be there. Please let us know if you will be, we always love to say hello to our readers!
