While Sir Jagger may claim it isn’t about money, it seems as though it probably is. I can’t help but think things such as video and audio quality would be easier to control for a streaming audience than those attending in person.
Given the astronomical cost of tickets for the recent Rolling Stones tours, I should think this would be a nice way for them to give back for those unable to attend and engage with the even broader audience who would be streaming the Glastonbury footage.
I should think the Stone would enjoy a boost in track and album sales after such a thing, as well.
