Emergency Hearing to Shut Down Congress Theater

Sadly, it looks as though Chicago’s much beloved Congress Theater is in a heap of trouble.
With everything from Deleterious Impact/Public Nuisance violations more than a year old, to theater owner Erineo “Eddie” Carranza’s seemingly blatant disregard for mounting health and safety violations which, according to officials, pose a threat to concertgoers, the prognosis doesn’t seem good for the Congress Theater.
There is an emergency hearing scheduled Thursday, April 18. We will keep you posted!
