If you didn’t get the opportunity to see Take Me To the River, clear your calendar. Martin Shore’s 2014 award-winning documentary celebrating the music and musicians of the Mississippi Delta is debuting on Netflix today. Featuring legendary artists such as Bobby Rush, Otis Clay, Mavis Staples, Charlie Musslewhite, and Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland as well as contemporary performers ranging from Snoop-Dogg and Terrance Howard to L’il P-Nut, Frayser Boy, and Yo Gotti, the film chronicles the rich musical history of Memphis and its surroundings.
