Happy Weekend!2nd May 2015 • No comments
Hello, hello to our lovely readers! Apologies for no HW last weekend. I’m usually the one who posts the Happy Weekends and I was in Portland last week. What a lovely place! Music Millennium and Second Avenue Records are both places I could easily spend gajillions of dollars, and Reading Frenzy and Powell’s are among the best book stores I’ve ever experienced. If you’re heading to Oregon, plan stops at each!
As for the week in music, it’s been a sad couple of days for legends. Ben. E King died yesterday (1 May) and B.B. King is resting at his Chicago home in Hospice care. Not many specifics have been given about Mr. King, but this Chicago Tribune does refute claims made by class act publication TMZ. All of us at Thirty Roses send our thoughts to the families, friends, and colleagues of these legendary artists.
In happier news, The VT is thriving! Music fans love what we’re doing and subscribers are especially in love with our zine! We’re all very excited about it and can’t thank everyone enough for all the support. If you haven’t subscribed yet, do so HERE and get ready for the May cover contest! Don’t forget to send your submissions!
Also, Mike Infanger wrote a great piece about the latest Kansas Bible company record. The band and their fans have been sharing his article like crazy. If you haven’t read it yet, read it here.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
